Do I need a permit to build a carport in Queensland?

Yes. To build a garage or carport on a property that already has an existing house, you will require separate building approval. This building approval is necessary in addition to any planning approval you may need for the construction. You can obtain this building approval for the garage or carport by consulting with a building certifier. We take care of all council approvals and paperwork.

What are the rules for carports in Qld?

The total height of the carport must not exceed 3.5 meters. A double carport cannot exceed 6 meters in width without eaves or 7.2 meters with eaves. A gutter on the front of a carport needs to be set back 150mm from the front property boundary. A carport is considered open if it has two or more open sides, and if the roof covering adjacent to that side is not less than 500mm from the structure.

We offer our standard sructural 6-year warranty on all carport projects. We also offer a manufacturers warranty of up to 15 years depending on which products you choose.

Can I add optional features such as lights, electrical outlets, storage spaces or solar panels?

The amount of maintenance needed will depend on the size and the materials used. But usually very minimal with occasional cleaning is required.

Do you offer aftercare maintenance or servicing for your carports?

Unfortunately we do nbot offer a maintenance service. But we can help you find a local company to assist you.
